Why This Guide Exists

For centuries, people have experienced states of consciousness that extend beyond ordinary perception — states that cannot be adequately described using the language of everyday experience. In the absence of a scientific vocabulary, they turned to the terms available to them: religious metaphors, mythological imagery, and spiritual concepts. The resulting gap between what modern science recognises and what contemplative traditions describe is not a gap in experience — it is a gap in language.

This guide bridges that gap. It takes terms that have historically been assigned to the domain of belief and reframes them within a scientifically compatible framework — without diminishing the underlying phenomena. What traditions call the "Higher Self" can be modelled as an informational integration structure.

How to Read the Entries Each entry shows the term, its traditional description, and our scientific reframing. The scientific formulation is the binding terminology for all content on IQVerse.
